The Challenge
Off-the-shelf e-commerce platforms assume a card-payment checkout, real-time stock deduction and courier integration from day one. For a lot of small retail and boutique brands — especially ones already taking orders over WhatsApp — that setup is heavier than the business actually needs, and the fees add up.
These brands don't want to abandon the WhatsApp relationship they already have with customers; they want a proper catalogue in front of it, not a wholesale replacement of how they take orders.
Key Pain Points
Standard checkout flows add cost and complexity a small catalogue doesn't need
No presentable, shareable product catalogue beyond WhatsApp chat photos
Card-only checkout excludes customers who prefer pay-on-delivery or UPI
Stock accuracy depends on a human checking the shelf anyway
Our Approach
We kept the part of the process that already works — a human confirming stock, price and delivery over WhatsApp — and built a proper storefront in front of it, instead of forcing a full self-service checkout the business didn't need.
Every product page generates a pre-filled WhatsApp message with the product, variant and page link already in it, so ordering is one tap for the customer and zero typing for the seller to know exactly what was asked for.
Strategic Steps
Editorial-style catalogue: Home, Shop, Product detail, About, Contact
Pre-filled WhatsApp deep link generated per product and variant
Phone-order fallback alongside WhatsApp for customers who prefer to call
Pay-on-delivery and UPI instead of a card-only checkout
The Solution
The result is a catalogue-first storefront: Home, Shop, a Product detail page with variant selection, About and Contact — all leading to the same one-tap ordering pattern instead of a cart and checkout.
On the product page itself, a customer picks a variant and hits Order on WhatsApp; the message that opens already names the product, the variant and links back to the page, so confirming stock and price takes the seller seconds, not a back-and-forth.
